Jaskier, 'The Witcher' Cosplay (2023)
This costume received the award for "Best Needlework" in the runner-up category for Oz Comic Con, Perth (2023). It is based on the costume worn by Joey Batey in the first season (Ep. 4) of Netflix's 'The Witcher' (2019). This three-piece fit was made over the course of a year and documented in a long-form YouTube series, as well as my Instagram.
Tailcoat Project (The Joker)
Inspired by the classic tuxedo tailcoat silhouette of the 1930's, this was my second tailored jacket project post-WAAPA. Based on the illustrations from Alan Moore's 'Batman: The Killing Joke'; I wanted this suit to encapsulate the classy (and deranged) showmanship that The Joker was known for. The core goal for this project, apart from creating an authentic white-tie tailcoat, was to create a costume that encapsulated the humor and terror that the "Clown-Prince of Crime" is infamous for.
Bride/Groom Costume (2023)
A fast and loose party project for myself, which involved deconstructing an existing suit and constructing an additional piece for the "bride" half of the costume. Cut from a vintage wedding dress pattern, I was able to source most of this costume from op-shops and scrap fabric in my stash.
Dallas ('Alien') Nostromo Shirt - 2022
This was little side-project I decided to make after completing an 'Alien' (1979) costume commission, which was made originally for 'Ash' the science officer. I didn't have it in me to make the trousers again, but I enjoyed taking the opportunity to cut and make the shirt for a different character. I picked Captain Dallas for the style of the shirt, which is represented by the gold-wing patch, and pin on the left pocket flap.
Jareth 'The Goblin King' (Supanova, 2019)
One of my early cosplays, made during my time at WAAPA; 'Jareth', as seen in the "As the World Falls Down" scene from Jim Henson's 'Labyrinth' (1986).
